Aung San Suu Kyi’s second overseas trip as state counselor and foreign minister will be to Thailand in June, a spokesperson has said.
Hmuu Zaw from the President’s Office gave no further details, 7Day reported.
The visit might bring back fond memories for the Lady, who visited in 2012 on her first foreign trip after she was freed from house arrest.
Her first overseas tour as Myanmar’s leader, after her government took power in April, was to Laos.
Suu Kyi should have plenty to talk about with Thailand’s current rulers given the strange role reversal the two countries seem to be experiencing.
While Myanmar has swapped military rule for a transition to democracy, its neighbor is now governed by an authoritarian junta.
