Gas explosion rips through Happy Cafe and Noodle

Four workers at the Happy Café and Noodle shop in Yangon’s Sanchaung Township have been hospitalized after a gas explosion ripped through the restaurant on Thursday.

The staff were sent to Yangon West general hospital after the explosion, which blew out the glass windows of the Pyay Road shop, the Global New Light of Myanmar reported.

Police say the accident happened while the manager, Ye Kyaw Swa, 33, was handling the gas cylinders. He and shopkeeper New Ni Oo, 50, have been charged.
