This downright adorable image from the severe flooding in Myanmar went viral on social media in the country over the weekend.
To us mere mortals, the picture probably doesn’t mean much more than a few moments of *squee*.
But to Yanghee Lee, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights, it represents the future of Myanmar.
Not so much in the sense of struggling to keep afloat in the face of almost certain drowning, but in the sense of sticking together.
Lee, once blasted as a ‘whore’ by Islamophobic nationalist monk Wirathu, focuses on issues of religious harmony.
Commenting on the image on Twitter, she wrote: “This is a great pic of wht #Myanmar should strive for. Diverse but united&working twrds common goal of stability.”
Cute, and spot on.
