Event: Antique Furniture exhibit in restored Yangon heritage building

If you haven’t seen the restored building on 501 Merchant Street yet, here’s your excuse to head over there.

This Friday is the opening of an exhibition dedicated to “rare” and “exquisite” antique furniture, organized by AVA owner Kaung Htet.

Some pieces are from the store and others from Kaung Htet’s personal collection. They range in age from 70 to 100 years.

“Our main expectation for doing this is to achieve public awareness to preserve the heritage from the bygone era in this country,” he said in an email.

The Friday opening is from 5pm to 7pm. On Saturday, the times are 10am to 6pm and on Sunday 10am to 2pm.
