Hundreds of revelers joined the city’s first Color Festival at People’s Park on Saturday.

Guests paid K10,000 to join the paint-splashing party, which lasted from the afternoon until well after sundown.

“Inspired by “The Colour Run”, and other non-religious events using colour in Berlin, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, London, New York and South Africa – Saturday the 26th was a stunning visual celebration of Myanmar’s cultural diversity,” organizers said in a press release. “The festival was was organised by a 98% Myanmar team, which included Shan, Burmese, Naga and Karen and English management.”
