Rangoon Tea House introduces Happy Hour

The battle for the after-work crowd heats up as Rangoon Tea House rolls out a tantalizingly long happy hour.

From 4pm to 7pm, the upscale tea shop is offering 50% off all cocktails.

RTH introduced its cocktail menu in April with some interesting blends. “Mr. Aung’s Chai Beer” ($5) is a mixture of chai tea, dry gin, spiced syrup and the country’s most popular brew, Myanmar beer. It comes in a tall glass. Other offerings include a “Chaijito,” a “Rangoon Julep” and a “Dragon Martini.”

The timing is more flexible than Gekko’s happy hour around the corner, which has annoyingly tweaked its hours to 4:30pm to 6:30pm instead of 5pm-7pm. It also went from offering lower prices to buy one get one free. However, Gekko’s is every day, while RHT’s is only on weekdays.

If these afternoon to early evening times don’t mesh with your work schedule, head on over to 50th Street’s recently introduced 8pm-10pm happy hour, which runs every day except for Saturday.
