The Arakan Army, a rebel group whose logo resembles the Nazi Party eagle, has released two captured soldiers, BBC Burmese reported.
The two soldiers, one of them a deputy corporal, were reportedly taken in an attack on an army outpost in Rakhine State in the last week of March (Rakhine is the official name for Arakan).
Arakan Army forces have been battling the army in on-again off-again skirmishes for months. Boths sides have taken captives but statistics on prisoners and casualties of the fighting are sparse.
According to the report, the men were handed over to the Red Cross in Bangladesh on Tuesday and are in the custody of Bangladeshi security forces but are expected to return to Myanmar.
