Woman in Mandalay beaten by group of thugs while onlookers do nothing

A video of a group of thugs punching a woman several times in the head in Mandalay as bystanders look on and do nothing has angered and shocked observers.

The incident occurred in Mandalay over water festival last week, DVB reported, and was captured on camera then uploaded to Facebook. We have embedded the video below, but there are few details about what happened or if anyone was arrested after the fact.

Alcohol-fueled violence and brawling is not a rarity during the festival, though it is unclear whether the attackers were inebriated. The footage ends with the victim trying to get away while one shirtless man chases her.
